Our Mission:

Emergency Relief

The mission of the Jewish Assistance Fund of Idaho is to provide emergency relief and short-term assistance for members of the community in times of crisis.

About Us

The Jewish Assistance Fund of Idaho was originally established as the Southern Idaho Jewish Welfare Fund in 1975 by concerned members of the Ahavath Israel Congregation to organize donations for national Jewish charities.  Since the Jewish community at that time was no more 35 or so families, the need to help members of the local Jewish community was not very great.  However, over the years the Jewish community has grown to exceed 300 families and with that growth, came the need to help those in crisis.  Since 1975, we have been able to help dozens of local individuals and families meet a variety of needs. We changed our name in 2014 to better reflect our mission to meet the diverse needs of the greater Treasure Valley.

How We Help

People experience times of crisis from unexpected illness, job loss, or from other family problems.  We meet with you so you can tell us your story, and so together, we can figure out the best plan to get you back on your feet.  Part of that plan is to offer appropriate financial assistance, but the other part of the plan involves making a realistic appraisal of the best solution for you.  It may take more than one meeting.
